Born in the Netherlands, Jeannette Berndsen is an internationally exhibited artist based in West Palm Beach, Florida. With a career spanning more than 25 years, her work has been shown in galleries and exhibitions throughout the United States and across Europe, earning her recognition for a distinctive visual language she describes as “Graphic Impressionism.”
Jeannette’s paintings are immediately recognizable for their bold use of color, expressive composition, and playful, often whimsical character. Inspired by the natural world—particularly animals—her work goes beyond representation to capture presence, emotion, and personality. Through simplified forms, dynamic contrasts, and luminous palettes, she creates pieces that are both visually striking and universally approachable.
Her artistic influences include masters such as Salvador Dalí, Johannes Vermeer, and Friedensreich Hundertwasser, whose impact can be seen in her balance between structure and imagination, precision and spontaneity. Each painting tells its own story, inviting the viewer to engage, interpret, and connect on a personal level.
Jeannette’s work is held in numerous private and public collections in the United States and internationally. She has been invited to exhibit in prestigious venues around the world, including Italy, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Turkey, Canada and Argentina. Her work has been featured in major art centers such as Paris—most notably at the Carrousel du Louvre—as well as in leading U.S. cities including New York, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale.
At the core of her practice is the belief that art should be both engaging and uplifting. Her paintings are designed to evoke joy, curiosity, and a sense of connection—qualities that resonate across cultures and environments, from private collections to public spaces.
Jeannette lives and works in West Palm Beach, where her studio serves as the creative center of her practice. There, she continues to explore color, form, and scale, often working with iridescent paints and layered contrasts that bring a unique vibrancy and depth to her work.
